Job Summary:
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for CNC fiber laser, press brake, and welding machinery. This role involves working closely with the sales team, customers, and internal staff to demonstrate, instruct, and troubleshoot these systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metalworking and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Showcase and teach the operation of laser, press brake, and welding systems to customers and internal staff.
· Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for potential customers in collaboration with the sales team.
- Execute cutting and software demonstrations for prospective customers, working closely with the sales team.
- Prepare thoroughly for potential customer demonstrations in collaboration with the sales team.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for laser, press brake, and welding applications via phone, video, and on-site visits.
- Assist customers with software and hardware issues related to products.
- Training and Development:
- Prepare and conduct training courses and events for customers and internal staff.
- Develop and maintain training documentation and course materials.
- Customer Engagement:
- Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Maintenance and Upkeep:
- Ensure the demo area and equipment are maintained in optimal condition.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on demonstration equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in metalworking, specifically with laser, press brake, and welding systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of metal processing systems and applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Bystronic products and software.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
